Para 18 - قَدْ اَفْلَحَ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

24.58

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لِیَسْتَاْذِنْكُمُ الَّذِیْنَ مَلَكَتْ اَیْمَانُكُمْ وَ الَّذِیْنَ لَمْ یَبْلُغُوا الْحُلُمَ مِنْكُمْ ثَلٰثَ مَرّٰتٍؕ-مِنْ قَبْلِ صَلٰوةِ الْفَجْرِ وَ حِیْنَ تَضَعُوْنَ ثِیَابَكُمْ مِّنَ الظَّهِیْرَةِ وَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ صَلٰوةِ الْعِشَآءِ۫ؕ-ثَلٰثُ عَوْرٰتٍ لَّكُمْؕ-لَیْسَ عَلَیْكُمْ وَ لَا عَلَیْهِمْ جُنَاحٌۢ بَعْدَهُنَّؕ-طَوّٰفُوْنَ عَلَیْكُمْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍؕ-كَذٰلِكَ یُبَیِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَكُمُ الْاٰیٰتِؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ عَلِیْمٌ حَكِیْمٌ(58)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Imaan

O believers! The slaves you possess and those (boys) amongst you who have not attained adulthood must seek your permission on three occasions; before the morning prayer, and when you remove your garments at noon, and after the night prayer; these three times are of privacy for you. Other than these three times, it is no sin for you or for them; they come and go about (to assist) one another. And this is how Allah explains (His) verses for you, and Allah is All-Knowing, Ever Wise.

Commentary

An Anṣārī slave came to call upon Sayyidunā ʿUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْه at noon while he was resting and entered without seeking permission first. The sudden appearance of the slave caused Sayyidunā Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْه to wish that if only slaves were commanded to seek permission before entering homes. Consequently, this verse was revealed, in which, slaves, slave-girls, and adolescents are commanded to seek permission before entering homes before the Fajr prayer, at midday and after the ‘Ishā prayer.
